Hi, I am Betty, I live in Germany and work as a professional Java Developer.
I was only 16 years old when I taught myself my first programming language, which at the time was Pascal. Back then, I developed scripts for an open source game inspired by the XCOM games (sadly, now discontinued). Quickly, I noticed a huge interest and passion for development as a craft—not just in the context of games—, learned Java at age 18 and pursued a developer career.
Being both a creative and intellectual person, game development still challenges my entire skill set, which ranges from graphic & sound design to music production & programming. There are immense synergies to be found because of my expertise in all these different fields, allowing me to learn new technologies at insane speeds (currently, that’s Unreal Engine).
My fields of interest in the professional area are quality assurance, software testing and architecture. Java is my comfort programming language and I like developing in Angular/TypeScript as well.
